Right of withdrawal
Last updated: 20 September 2026
The French version prevails. / La version française fait foi.
This page explains your 14-day right of withdrawal, the exception that applies to digital content delivered immediately, and lets you send a withdrawal request in seconds.
The rule: 14 days
For a distance purchase, consumers have 14 calendar days from the conclusion of the contract to withdraw, without justification and without penalty (article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code).
The exception: digital content delivered immediately
Article L221-28 13° states that this right does not apply to digital content supplied without a physical medium where performance began after the consumer's prior express consent and express waiver of the right of withdrawal.
Before every ARCA purchase, a mandatory, non pre-ticked checkbox asks for that consent: “I request immediate access to my content and acknowledge that I waive my 14-day right of withdrawal.” If you tick it and the file is delivered, withdrawal is no longer possible.
When withdrawal still applies
- The content has not been delivered yet or the download link was never used.
- It is a membership: you can cancel at any time for the following period.
- The product does not match its description: the legal guarantee of conformity applies.
